After the tremendous success I had becoming the 2024 Japan Drone League Series Champion with the JS-3 Type R, I wanted to design something special for my teammate & good friend Atsuki Yada who had played a major role in our successful campaign. We brainstormed a bunch of ideas for his dream airframe & came up with a series of principles that would shape what we would create:
-Class leading stiffness & tuning performance
-Strong survivability for the frame & components with easy servicing
-Intuitive flight feel and easy to fly after long breaks from FPV

At this time Atsuki was transitioning from FPV being his main hobby to 3D Helis, and wanted a machine that he could enjoy with relative ease across the entire lifecycle of the machine.

After handling the initial prototypes and custom frames we realised how much potential this platform had not only as the perfect 5" machine for sunset sending on a practice day, but as an Apex predator in the racing scene with its unparalleled handling & flight feel, not to mention its ease of servicing between heats & race days.

What we came up with was the JS-4 Tigershark. Our Most stiff & durable machine to date (assuming no Arm Braces), with sensational cornering feel, intuitive camera placement, & class leading serviceability.

Features include:

-46mm spacing between the standoffs lengthwise - Plenty of room to mount a wide range of esc/FC stack combinations
-Symmetrical Stack bolt location front-back - bottom plate, mid plate & brace plate are bi-directional
- Three bolt motor mounts - Reduces chance of motor base bending & likelihood of arm-neck twist
-Custom arm "air-interlock" system - All the stiffness benefits of frames built under tension with most of the durability benefits of our JS-3 platform for longevity.
-Optional TPU "16mm Battery Strap Cushion" - Centres 16mm battery straps in its thru-hole and better distributes load across the battery strap. This allows for tighter grip of the battery and more longevity out of lightweight race grade battery straps.
-190mm motor-motor spacing - Reduced rotational momentum which improves handling across the entire spectrum of flight.
-Arm bolts separated from stack bolts - Can change arms without having to re-tension nuts on the stack bolts.
- AUW including all hardware 59g. 


Notes: If building the frame with 20mm standoffs, it's recommended to use three layers of square cut electrical tape on the front and rear pressnuts to reduce the change of escs short circuiting with the frame.

Brace plate & Carbon-Carbon surfaces will wear over time depending on use/number of crashes. It's recommended to check the condition of the brace plate every 5000 flights/9000kms

Currently No JS-4 carbon components are compatible with the JS-3/2/1 platform. These share different assembly methods & principles and are two completely separate platforms.


Note: This is only the carbon & hardware for the frame. For proper assembly, additional TPU parts are required to complete the build. We have printing on demand available, but additionally all the parts are available for download.

TPU sold through BMS Racing is made for the TBS Triumph Pro U.FL,  HDZero  Camera. If you are using a different antenna, camera or lens, please contact us first to verify compatibility before you make a purchase. We will be producing more mounts & variants as required.
